The Georgia Bar Exam will take place at the Georgia International Conference Center (GICC).
2000 Convention Center Concourse
College Park, GA 30337
Phone: (770) 997-3566
Getting to the GICC:
From Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport: You can find an instructional video on how to take the ATL SkyTrain from the airport to the GICC and neighboring hotels here.
Driving Directions:
If you drive or rideshare, turn on Walt Bellamy Way to access the parking lot and drop-off location.
The GICC has five conjoined surface parking lots available for a flat rate fee. Cash payments are not accepted. You can find the current parking fee in the Rules and Instructions for the Bar Exam.
If you stay in one of the hotels south of the GICC, you can enter the building through the International Ballroom entrance (your path from the hotel to the GICC is shown in yellow in the diagram below) and then walk counterclockwise through the lobbies (shown in purple below) until you reach the lobby for the Exhibit Halls.
Entrance:
From the parking lot or drop-off location, you can enter any of the exhibit hall doors on the north side of the GICC. The exhibit hall lobby is inside these doors.
Waiting for the Exam:
If you arrive early (which is highly recommended!), you can wait in the exhibit hall lobby.
Applicants testing under nonstandard testing accommodations may already be testing in the International Suites, and applicants must be quiet around that area.
Seating Assignments
While you are waiting, be sure to find your seating assignment for the exam. Seating assignments are located on bulletin boards on the back wall of the exhibit hall lobby.
Restrooms
Before the exam and during the lunch break, restrooms are available inside Exhibit Hall A and throughout the GICC. You can find information about restroom availability during the exam sessions below.
Pencil Sharpener and Storage Bins
An electronic pencil sharpener will be available in the exhibit hall lobby as well as storage bins where you can keep prohibited items. Please note, the GICC and Office of Bar Admissions are not responsible for items left in the bins.
Bar Exam:
At the designated time, you will enter through the doors to either Exhibit Hall B or Exhibit Hall C.
What to Bring into the Exam Room
Be sure to review the Georgia Bar Exam Rules and Instructions prior to arriving at the exam so you properly prepare for what to bring and what not to bring to the bar exam. This document includes a list of required items, allowable items, and prohibited items. Below are examples of what to bring on day 1 (Tuesday) and day 2 (Wednesday) of the Georgia Bar Exam.
The Exam Room
The exam room is wired for laptops. The floor is not carpeted, so wear quiet shoes that will not disturb others. There are several large clocks at the front of the room that display the official time.
When you arrive at your seat, you will find:
- A name card taped to your table that includes your applicant number and NCBE number.
- A signature card that you will use (once you are instructed to do so) to help verify your identity.
- Foam earplugs for you to use if you wish.
- Both MPT items, which must remain sealed until you are instructed to begin testing.
- An instructional sheet to remind you of the items that are allowed and prohibited in the exam room and that includes the exam schedule.
- Stapled to the instructional sheet are Examplify instructions to remind you how to use the Examplify software and to provide you with the passwords for the morning (MPT) and afternoon (Essay) sessions. Electrical connections are supplied at each table, and you can plug in your laptop power cord, confirm that your laptop is receiving power, and open Examplify once you are seated.
Restrooms
During the exam, restrooms are available for standard-time applicants within the Exhibit Halls. Please take care to be as quick as possible so the restroom monitors will not have to worry about you. Restroom breaks during the last 10 minutes of each exam session are limited to emergencies; this is so that applicants still testing are not disturbed as they try to finalize their answers. Remember to wear quiet shoes (no flip-flops or high heels) so you don’t disturb your fellow applicants as you walk to the restroom; the Exhibit Halls are not carpeted.
We hope this information allows you to do your best work, and we wish you the best of luck on the Georgia Bar Exam!
