Secured Transactions will no longer be tested on the Georgia essay questions.

Effective immediately, the Supreme Court of Georgia has removed Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (Secured Transactions) from the list of subjects that will be tested on the essay questions prepared by the Board of Bar Examiners for the Georgia Bar Exam. The Court anticipates making additional changes to the list of tested subjects that will become effective in July 2028, and those changes will be announced within the next few months. All of these changes are part of the Court's continued work to ensure that the Georgia Bar Exam is part of a regulatory framework that strikes the appropriate balance between protecting the public interest and ensuring that qualified applicants to the Bar in Georgia are able to enter the legal profession. The removal of UCC Article 9 from the list of tested subjects was one of the recommendations contained in the Final Report of the Georgia Lawyer Competency Task Force.
